Job Description:
The Commercial Data & Insights Analyst is vital to the success of FPC Global’s Digital Building Services. This role drives operational and commercial performance, governance, and delivery with key responsibilities include data analysis, resource management, reporting, dashboard tooling ownership and driving insights that underpin financial performance to support commercial delivery and growth.
The core function is to enhance commercial success by developing intelligence data frameworks to optimise billability, drive end-to-end 3PM delivery and increase contract profitability. This involves managing operational/financial data, performance dashboards, and resource profitability tools, while continuously improving data reporting, standards, data governance, data architecture (inc ways of working) and commercial agility through real-time visibility into global resource utilisation and financial performance.
The Analyst, reporting into the Operations and Performance Lead, collaborates with leadership and delivery teams, providing high-value, data-driven insights for decision-making, efficiency, and client results, focusing on identifying trends and ensuring exceptional standards in commercial risk mitigation and data integrity within a high-growth, global consulting environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Data Management & Analysis
- Multi Pillar Data Oversight: Manage commercial data across 3PM, owning commercial & operational data sets and ensuring consistent commercial governance frameworks for global multi-year contracts.
- Database Integrity: Maintain accurate, timely commercial & operational data governance by developing and managing structured FPC and client databases.
- Data Trend Identification: Deliver detailed data lead analysis to pinpoint performance trends, commercial risks, strategic opportunities, and financial improvement.
Business Intelligence & Commercial Dashboard Development
- Visual Commercial Design: Design, build, own and embed commercial dashboards using visualisation tools to transform complex data into actionable visual insights.
- Reporting Accuracy: Guarantee high data accuracy and usability in all visualisation tools for reliable reporting to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), the “Board”, external clients).
- Continuous data Improvements: Proactively identify emerging commercial reporting needs and continually optimise data visualisation tools to enhance service delivery for relevant stakeholders.
Commercial & Resource Performance Reporting
- Financial Insight: Report on project profitability, commercial health, accountability, revenue forecasting, budgeting, financial actuals, latest estimates, and financial reconciliation across change control governance bodies.
- Financial Impact: Proactively identify margin erosion and revenue leakage globally, providing the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) with data-driven recommendations for cost recovery and margin improvement.
- Resource Planning: Automate commercial data for resource planning, reducing manual effort and improving resource management, data utilisation, and tooling data.
- Utilisation Strategy: Analyse regional CoE ‘cost-to-serve’ data to optimise global resource billability inc. utilisation and realisation and ensure the most cost-efficient mix for fixed-fee, retainer and T&M contracts.
- Decision Support: Supply commercial resourcing data to the 3PM team, Senior Leadership team (SLT), and the “Board” to inform critical decision-making on resource allocation and project prioritisation for global commercial initiatives.
Process & Tooling Development
- Systems Improvement: Own the ongoing enhancement of commercial data processes, frameworks and associated data management systems.
- Implementation: Assist in selecting and deploying new performance management and business reporting tools. Initially, focus on rolling out FPC’s data strategy to unify commercial operations across the organisation following to assist with growth strategy.
- Internal Support: Assist internal teams by owning documentation, providing training on reporting tools, commercial mechanisms, and dashboards, while owning the end user support process for all visualisation tooling.
Governance & Operational Performance Support
- Compliance & Assurance: Produce comprehensive commercial robust performance reports to inform governance reviews and project assurance, utilising data insights using various tooling.
- Stakeholder & Commercial Collaboration: Work with the Senior Leadership team (SLT), 3PM team and the “Board” to ensure data integrity and provide quality insights for commercial reporting.
AI & Automation:
- AI-Driven Insights: Use AI to automate the identification of performance trends, commercial risks and financial process improvements across 3PM commercial delivery.
- Predictive Analytics & Competitive Intelligence: Utilise AI and benchmarking data to enhance financial modeling and refine global rate cards for market competitiveness and target margin maintenance across the 3PM Pillar.
- Prompt Engineering & Automation: Develop and refine AI prompts and automated workflows within data visualisation tools to reduce manual data processing steps.
- Commercial Analysis: Utilise AI to manipulate data across for reporting across data visualisation tools.
Qualifications:
Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Advanced Excel / Google suite Knowledge: Demonstrated proficiency in advanced features of Microsoft or Google Suite, including the capacity to independently develop complex, dynamic models, and macros.
- Data Visualisation Software: Demonstrated success in creating, enhancing, and managing business intelligence tools and commercial dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker)
- Commercial Data Management:.Proven ability to analyse large, complex commercial data sets, delivering clear, actionable insights while ensuring data accuracy, governance, and integrity.
- Commercial Awareness: Experience in a 3PM-based consultancy, or service delivery environment, demonstrating strong commercial awareness
- Industry Context: Commercial consultancy sector experience (Smart Buildings, Facilities Management, Construction, Engineering, Technology, or business consultancy).
- Commercial Financial Management: Solid financial acumen for commercial project work, encompassing project margins, revenue forecasting, and utilisation of financial resources.
- Stakeholder Management: Ability to clearly communicate complex technical data and insights to diverse, non-technical audiences, including the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and the “Board”.
- AI Tooling: Proficiency in using AI driven features within data visualisation tools to improve tooling scope and capabilities.
Desirable (“Nice to have”):
- Frameworks: Experience with commercial operational KPIs and knowledge of project delivery methodologies, such as “Waterfall”,”Agile”, “Hybrid”, “Scrum”.
- Data Tooling: Experience with SaaS tools such as Smartsheet, CRM tools like ServiceNow, work management solution tools like Jira or Professional Service Automation (PSA) tools such as Rocketlane,
- Cloud & Platform: Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure).
- Data Languages: .Proficiency in Python, SQL, and VBA for hands-on data processing, manipulation, ownership and analysis.
- Data Architecture: Proven experience establishing and maintaining structured commercial data repositories and databases for business reporting, with commercial tool implementation experience (e.g ERP) preferred.
- AI Machine Learning:.Familiarity with basic ML/AI concepts in Python, SQL, and VBA.
